Kamini' (Kalpakkam Mini), a 30 KW research reactor which uses man-made Uranium-233 as fuel and the only working reactor of its kind in the world, attains 'criticality'.

9/10/1920Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao was born at Hadagali in Karnataka. In 1945 he put forward the ""theory of estimation"" in statistics. His formulae and therorems, for instance the ""Cramer-Rao inequality"", ""The Fisher-Rao theorem"" and ""Rao-Black Wellistaion"" are now part of any standard textbook of statistics.
