Kiev, Dec 2 (IANS) Ukraine has reported 13,141 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the tally to 758,264, health ministry said on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, 169 more patients have died of the disease, taking the country's toll to 12,717, Xinhua reported.

So far, a total of 369,054 people have recovered from the disease.

Ukraine's Health Minister Maxym Stepanov said he will no longer recommend the government continue weekend quarantines to quell the spread of COVID-19 since it has little effect, UNIAN news agency reported on Tuesday.

The Minister said Ukraine should have at least three weeks of a complete lockdown to have a visible positive effect.

Ukraine had decided to introduce from November 14-30 a weekend quarantine, under which gatherings with over 20 people, including beauty salons, shopping centers and entertainment facilities, will be closed on weekends.

However, the restrictions were not strictly observed throughout the country.
